Not sure where to begin ... I've always had a dog with me. My last dog was a Lab that I got at 8 weeks old. I trained and raised him to be a good-mannered dog. After 8 years he contracted cancer and we had to put him down. I didn't want another dog for a good while, but I had an opportunity to save a pittie mix from a kill shelter. It was obvious from the start that she was mistreated. She feared everything and everyone, from car doors closing to the ceiling fan being on. I was over my head, I've never adopted an adult dog before and she clearly had issues that I didn't know how to overcome. After doing my research, I contacted 3 dog trainers. 2 just threw prices at me and Sit Means Sit was only one who invited me to stop by for an evaluation. Obviously, we went with Sit Means Sit. They evaluated our dog, asked questions and listened to our concerns. I was impressed with Abby and Terra. Within a week, we saw the change with our dog and at the end of training her leash skills, recall and commands improved as well as her confidence. Very satisfied with SMS. We still take her now for daycare and will continue to do so. Totally recommend SMS. oh, and she loves the staff and gets excited every time we go back.
This team is great and very helpful. I am glad I took my girl in for training. The biggest benefit for me and my girl was their help for me to create consistency in how I lead her. I'm still working on it. They're post training events are really helpful too. They were able to help me control her tendency to think small dogs were toys and attempting to protect me when there wasn't a threat. She now knows some new commands beyond the basics. I would definitely recommend them. I had to get used to the collar. They helped me understand how to effectively use it.
Stella is my first rescue and the first few months I had her she was a little crazy! I have seen so much improvement with her because of SMS. The staff is so awesome and Stella loves each one of them! I thought she had pretty good behavior in the house from the moment I got her but she’s much more obedient inside and ESPECIALLY outside of the house after a few months of training. Thank you guys!! Here are some photos from her pupdates :)
I found Sit Means Sit because my wild German shepherd, Hank, was anxiety inducing, he had major leash reactivity, lunged and barked at every dog, and wouldn’t listen to me all. After the training program- I actually enjoy walking my dog! I can take Hank to outdoor restaurants and patios with friends to relax. Instead of reacting negatively to other dogs, he looks to me for reassurance. He is still my goofy and wild boy, but the training gave us such a strong bond that he trusts, respects, and listens to me. I still use their boarding to this day. Hank loves them, I love them, I can’t say enough good things. Thank you guys for giving my boy and me everything we needed!!
5 /5 Experience with a very knowledgeable staff.
The team at SMS was amazing. The training and care for my German Shepard was 10/10. I highly recommend them!
Good small facility where our dog is not part of a massive herd. The only test is "he loves it".
Absolutely love Sit Means Sit! My pup came in with low confidence and very timid and she has come leaps and bounds. I love the day training option, I didn’t like the idea of sending my girl off for weeks at a time, here I am filled in as her training progresses. Now she sprints up to the door, ready for school!
This was my first time boarding my 7 month old mini Aussie. Needless to say, she is quite a handful. Sit means Sit was so loving and kind to her and she came back to me all played out. I love the daily report cards and we are very excited to start her private training!
Clean place, reasonably priced services. My dog received play time throughout the day and I received an updated report card each day with a photo. They do have cameras that are monitored during the night so that there's always someone keeping an eye out.
Love this place! One of the best in Dallas! They care about you and your pet.
The team at Sit Means Sit is amazing. They quickly identified the challenges my rescue pup was having and began addressing them immediately. I saw positive improvement within days. Everyone is so helpful and very responsive.
Excellent trainers! Would 100% recommend!
My dog Enzo learned so much from his stay at Sit Means Sit and he fell in love with all the wonderful people that work there. He was subsequently adopted by another couple, bc he was my foster dog, and they claim, they have never had such a well behaved dog! Thanks Sit Means Sit! 10 / 10
Amazing staff, our golden loves his visits to SMS, gets to play with his buddies that he met during his training process.
My dog Franklin loves Sit means sit! We trust them to take great care of him and train him while we are out of town. Their new facility is awesome too!Thank you!
We love Sit Means Sit! Our dog gets so excited to go and it’s so fun to get his “pupdates.” My kids and I gather around the phone to look at pics of him and his friends playing together :) we also love the new facility!! Very happy with our experience here.
The team was very professional. The boarding and training was kind and successful. We are continuing the training to ensure my girl is happy and safe. Recommend this team and their methods.
Austin, Taz and the team at Northwest location are the best. Their made a big difference in our Una’s behavior. She’s loves everyone there.
Can not say enough great things about SMS. Trainers were all awesome gave me the confidence to handle my Tyson. They were patient and you can tell they love what they do. If you are struggling with a reactive dog give them a call it will be life changing for both you and your fur baby.
Everyone at SMS has been amazing to work with. Boo isn’t a fan of new people but responded really well to Candice and Taz. We look forward to the transitional group classes to continue to learn, grow and refine all the foundational skills Boo has learned. SMS provided us with the tools, assurances and knowledge to continue this journey with Boo
My German Shepherd started with trainer Candice at 5 months old. She has been very patient and helpful in training my pup. My pup is currently in group classes and it's going well! He is making a lot of progress at home and I'm excited to see him continue to learn with Sit Means Sit.
Candice is pawesome! She worked well with our wild pup and answered our questions thoroughly!
Our Lab attended a Board and Train program with Sit Means Sit. We continue to work with Candace and fine tune our training for our Lab. She understands the lessons require repetition and patience. She listens to your concerns and give positive feedback to your needs. She provides encouragement to you and your pup. Candace is an amazing trainer! I recommend Sit Means Sit!
Thank you so much Mike, Candace and Josh I was extremely satisfied with the training as well as the professionalism. The results were effective immediately, I highly recommend sit means sit to any one who is looking for a dog trainer in San Antonio you will not be disappointed!
Did A four day program for my GSD since he already had prior training but was showing some aggression issues with certain people, in the four days Mike, Cadence, Josh were amazing with every detail when I picked him up and a huge change in his behavior . They were also good about giving updates during the day these are the best dog trainers in San Antonio will be bringing him back for further training.
I enrolled in the Extreme Day training program which I felt was best for Theo and me. He got one on one training with a trainer during the day and I got to be part of the training at the end of the day. Theo has gotten much better about pulling in the leash and having confidence in himself. The program/staff worked with my work schedule and Theo always seems to have a blast (bonus he was tired when we got home). Everyone on board was very kind and patient (both to canine and human) and would highly recommend. Bonus the staff would text me updates and send some photos which I love. I attended the NorthWest location
After researching many options, sit means sit was the best fit for us because it works! We love all the trainers here and feel like part of the family. We have had so much fun taking our dog to training that our family had to get two more fur babies to take to training. The northwest facility is super nice and has a great space both indoors and outdoors to train with the dogs. Would definitely recommend to all family and friends.
Sit means Sit Cibolo location has been absolutely wonderful with my pup Raven! The puppy classes have helped tremendously and the trainers have been so fantastic at not only teaching Raven but myself as well. I just signed up for the next set of training and can't wait to start. I've had interactions with Austin and Chelsea in scheduling and appointments and Brook and Taz have been those working with Raven and I. Im so impressed by all of them. I am so glad I chose Sit means Sit. It's been a life saver! I would highly recommend them!
SMS transformed my willful, furniture chewing, hard to control dog into a companion that I can take on walks, to visit friends and enjoy. My dog is only a year old so he still has a lot to learn. I am planning to participate in group classes, which I anticipate will improve both my dog owner skills and my dog’s social skills.
Great dog training staff (both our dogs, my wife and I think they are great), very convenient location, and worth the money since our dogs are pretty well behaved now. But it is what you put into it. If you are serious about it and are willing to stick with what they tell you to do you will get amazing results. Both our dogs went thru and continue weekly classes.
Have had great success with this training group!
I literally could not be happier with this program, the facilities, and especially the trainers! I have three Labrador Retrievers and my oldest dog, Ziggy, who is now almost 7 years old, went through the training when he was 18 months old. I had never been a dog owner as an adult but had grown up with dogs. Ziggy had a great personality but was 100 pounds and as stubborn as an ox. I would almost be in tears trying to walk him and get him to not jump on people when they came in my house. Now, almost 6 years after completing training, I can still walk him off leash just as well as when he finished the program. I personally have no fear that he will run away or interact with another dog unless I give him permission (this is all part of the commands that you learn in the training program. Saying break is their signal that they are free to run about and do whatever they want until you give the next command). My next lab, Bowie, is 18 months old and he did the four day jumpstart program when he was about 6 months old since I was familiar with the e-collar and the commands. He is an anxious dog so we still have some things that we are working through, but in terms of training, he is a star pupil and so incredibly well-behaved and trained. My youngest lab, Major, is eight months old and he did the sleep away board and train for just under two weeks at the Cibolo location. When I say he is the best trained dog (aside from the trainers’ personal dogs of course haha) I have ever met I am not exaggerating. He is still a young and energetic puppy, but he knows his basic commands so well and can already walk in a perfect heel by my side with or without a leash. I will periodically send the boys to board and review when I am out of town for a long weekend as a refresher and I am constantly learning new things from the trainers. I am excited to continue group classes with my two youngest dogs!! With this review is a photo of all of my dogs, which was actually very easy to get because “place” is one of their commands and it means sit where I tell you to sit until you get the “break” command lol. And the photo of just my chocolate lab, Major, shows what the e-collar looks like on him.
Excellent training! Trainers are highly knowledgeable and friendly. I enrolled my pup in a 3 week board and train with great results! Highly recommend!!!
I love how friendly and knowledge everyone is. I haven't seen my dog with other dogs in such a long time. He's come along way. Thank you so much Sit Means Sit and all the employees there. I couldn't have asked for more. Extremely happy dog mom!!
Our dogs have made tremendous progress with Sit Means Sit. It is a wonderful program, with great results!
Mona the Goldendoodle and I are proud Sit Means Sit alumni!! Before board and train, she was a demon puppy and now her manners match her angel looks while still maintaining her sweet personality. We also love continuing to come to group classes to practice our skills and ask specific questions about how to improve from the amazing, helpful staff. Highly recommend!
Since I have moved to Florida this has been the ONLY place I board my dog. I appreciate Tina and the staff for always making the process quick and easy.
The trainers and staff are wonderful. Very knowledgeable and always willing to help. They did an amazing job training our puppy Tucker. He is a rescue and was found on the streets. Sit Means Sit trained him for 3 months before we got him and he is the best dog we could ask for! He listens to commands, is friendly to other people and dogs, and loves to snuggle! We will continue taking Tucker to group classes where he can learn and socialize with other dogs.
When I got my dog George i immediately enrolled him in puppy training day classes - once those were completed - he now goes to daycare at Sit Means Sit Dallas and absolutely LOVES IT! Great place and great people who give 100% to the dogs!!
