Training As Seen On
Whether you have brought home a brand-new puppy or have an aged dog with years of reactivity problem behaviors, we exist to help you get a better relationship with your pet and unlock the dog of your dreams.
Our clients take their pets with them, whether they are shopping, hiking, or simply enjoying a beer and burger on their favorite local patio. We are the premier leaders in off-leash manners for the everyday family.
The key to a happy, confident dog is a well-trained dog. By improving communication between the owner and their dog, we enhance the happiness of both. It also reduces your dog’s boredom through physical and mental stimulation.
Obedience Training
An untrained dog can be destructive and even dangerous. At best, they are left in a crate as the rest of the family enjoys their day. At worst, they will destroy thousands of dollars of household property.
A well-trained dog is the right of every household. Our basic obedience training system provides holistic and lasting change with in a matter of days. It empowers you, as the owner, to have control, and immediate communication with your pet.
Puppy Training
When you bring a puppy home, it is an exciting start of a new chapter. Getting that puppy off to the right start makes the entire experience more enjoyable for all parties. Both the dog and the owner are getting used to each other.
Puppies are the best age to start dog training. Initially, most locations will modify the first few sessions to work with your puppy’s shorter attention span, increasing the training length until they are able to complete full-length training sessions.
Anxiety & Aggression
Our training techniques work well for reactive dogs struggling with anxiety & aggression issues. Whether they are lunging at other dogs or barking at everything that comes by, our system can help.
Teaching the dog to keep their attention on their owner increases the dog’s confidence and sense of safety and quickly relieves them of anxiety behaviors.
Socialized Group Classes
Graduates of our program are able to take advantage of our group classes. Our coaches work with the owners, helping you train your dog, and master advanced skills.
These programs are also an excellent time to refresh basic principles and work on socialization.

Learn Why Dog owners choose Sit Means Sit Dog Training
I love how friendly and knowledge everyone is. I haven't seen my dog with other dogs in such a long time. He's come along way. Thank you so much Sit Means Sit and all the employees there. I couldn't have asked for more. Extremely happy dog mom!!
Mona the Goldendoodle and I are proud Sit Means Sit alumni!! Before board and train, she was a demon puppy and now her manners match her angel looks while still maintaining her sweet personality. We also love continuing to come to group classes to practice our skills and ask specific questions about how to improve from the amazing, helpful staff. Highly recommend!
Stella is my first rescue and the first few months I had her she was a little crazy! I have seen so much improvement with her because of SMS. The staff is so awesome and Stella loves each one of them! I thought she had pretty good behavior in the house from the moment I got her but she’s much more obedient inside and ESPECIALLY outside of the house after a few months of training. Thank you guys!! Here are some photos from her pupdates :)
We 100% recommend sit means sit! We have used them now for both of our dogs & it was well worth it each time. We sent our 11 month puppy for board and train & he come back knowing more than we could have expected. We also used them in the years prior for our 4 year old shepherd. He’s now fully off leash trained, and can be trained in any environment without a collar. Amazing team, and truly care about the dogs. They go above and beyond.
Absolutely love Sit Means Sit! My pup came in with low confidence and very timid and she has come leaps and bounds. I love the day training option, I didn’t like the idea of sending my girl off for weeks at a time, here I am filled in as her training progresses. Now she sprints up to the door, ready for school!
This was my first time boarding my 7 month old mini Aussie. Needless to say, she is quite a handful. Sit means Sit was so loving and kind to her and she came back to me all played out. I love the daily report cards and we are very excited to start her private training!
Clean place, reasonably priced services. My dog received play time throughout the day and I received an updated report card each day with a photo. They do have cameras that are monitored during the night so that there's always someone keeping an eye out.
The team at Sit Means Sit is amazing. They quickly identified the challenges my rescue pup was having and began addressing them immediately. I saw positive improvement within days. Everyone is so helpful and very responsive.
My dog Enzo learned so much from his stay at Sit Means Sit and he fell in love with all the wonderful people that work there. He was subsequently adopted by another couple, bc he was my foster dog, and they claim, they have never had such a well behaved dog! Thanks Sit Means Sit! 10 / 10
We had such a great experience with sit means sit. We had a very high energy Labrador puppy. He did the 10 day stay with JD and was transformed. He is much better on his walks and his behaviors around the house with a quick push of the button. He’s still high energy but now he is much more manageable. Thank you JD and the sit means with team!
We love Sit Means Sit! Our dog gets so excited to go and it’s so fun to get his “pupdates.” My kids and I gather around the phone to look at pics of him and his friends playing together :) we also love the new facility!! Very happy with our experience here.
We had a great experience training our puppy through Sit Means Sit all of the trainers were really caring and knowledgeable. This is our 3rd lab and the others were never trained, I already see a difference in just 7 months. I would recommend!
My Henry was so reactive toward other dogs and people. Can’t even take him on walks. After months of home training with no results we decided to take him Sit Mean Sit. Thanks to J.D. @ Sit Mean Sit and after 10 days of boarding, can’t believe what a difference it make. Henry is now able look and be close to other dogs with no reaction. Now I am able to recall him also. He is still working on a weekly basis in group class. Would highly recommend this place if you want to have a calm dog.
Can not say enough great things about SMS. Trainers were all awesome gave me the confidence to handle my Tyson. They were patient and you can tell they love what they do. If you are struggling with a reactive dog give them a call it will be life changing for both you and your fur baby.
We sent our puppy here for two separate week-long training sessions, both of which ended with an in-home training session. In addition to the on-site training sessions, we believe Sit Means Sit has made a world of difference in our dog's growth and behavior. Their simple method -- using a "tap" and concise commands -- lends it self to the whole family's participation in the training. We highly recommend this training method!
Everyone at SMS has been amazing to work with. Boo isn’t a fan of new people but responded really well to Candice and Taz. We look forward to the transitional group classes to continue to learn, grow and refine all the foundational skills Boo has learned. SMS provided us with the tools, assurances and knowledge to continue this journey with Boo.
My German Shepherd started with trainer Candice at 5 months old. She has been very patient and helpful in training my pup. My pup is currently in group classes and it's going well! He is making a lot of progress at home and I'm excited to see him continue to learn with Sit Means Sit.
Our Lab attended a Board and Train program with Sit Means Sit. We continue to work with Candace and fine tune our training for our Lab. She understands the lessons require repetition and patience. She listens to your concerns and give positive feedback to your needs. She provides encouragement to you and your pup. Candace is an amazing trainer! I recommend Sit Means Sit!
Thank you so much Mike, Candace and Josh I was extremely satisfied with the training as well as the professionalism. The results were effective immediately, I highly recommend sit means sit to any one who is looking for a dog trainer in San Antonio you will not be disappointed!
Professional Dog Trainers
Our dog trainers attend several weeks of training at our headquarters in Las Vegas, and then must frequently undergo refresher training. They are thought to be closely in tune with your dog’s behavior.
From teaching your dog essential commands such as “place”, to heel training, they break each step into extremely tiny pieces, helping your pet master these concepts at a faster rate.
On your initial consultation, we’ll discuss your training goals, and craft a training plan that matches your desired behaviors. Often, this means that we’ll take your dog into the real world, riding the same subway you ride, or shopping in the stores you enjoy shopping at, just so your dog receives training for the real world.
