Frozen Dog Treat Recipes to Make this Summer

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy frozen, refreshing treats! Additionally, these treats are full of nutritious fruits that are great for fido. Check out these frozen dog treat recipes that your pup will love!

Frozen Strawberry Banana Treats

Blend:

  • 2 cups strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup plain regular or Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 14 cup water

Pour the mixture into a silicone mold and freeze for approximately 30 minutes or until set. Once set, you can store them in a container or bag in the freezer. You can add or replace fruit depending on what your dog prefers!

Dog Ice Cream

Blend:

  • 3 frozen bananas
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup lactose-free half and half (xylitol free)
  • 2 teaspoons honey

Pour into a loaf pan or into individual portion molds. Then, freeze for at least one hour.

Frozen Watermelon and Yogurt Treats

Puree 2 cups of chopped, seedless watermelon in a blender or food processor. Then, add 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt to the bottom of each mold or ice cube tray. Lastly, fill the rest of the mold with the watermelon puree. Freeze the treats for about four hours until they are solid. Then, you can remove the treats from the mold and store them in a container or bag in the freezer.

Chicken and Biscuit Treats

If your pup prefers meat flavors over fruity ones, then they will go nuts for these!

Simply combine:

  • 2 cups of chopped, cooked chicken
  • 2 cups flour
  • 5.3 oz plain regular or Greek yogurt
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

Then drop 1-tablespoon-sized portions onto a lined baking sheet and flatten slightly with the back of a spoon. Then bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-14 minutes until they are lightly golden brown. Once they are completely cooled, you can store them in the refrigerator or freezer in a container or bag. Just be sure to thaw the treat before serving!

Fido will love any treats you make because they are made with love! Also, any of the fruits can be substituted for others depending on what your pal prefers or even what you have available. Just make sure that whatever food you add is safe for your furry friend! Now, get to baking!
